Enviro-Culture FAQ's
How does Enviro-Culture® work? When introduced into an aquatic environment with an organic food source, the beneficial bacteria begin to compete for the available nutrients in the water. The proteolytic capabilities possessed by our bacteria consume so many nutrients that it makes it extremely difficult for unwanted growth to occur.
How does Enviro-Culture® get rid of odors? Enviro-Culture® not only releases hydrogen peroxide when introduced into your aquatic feature, but it also works to control your pH levels. These combining factors have the ability to greatly reduce odors permeating from your aquatic feature.
What type of environment can Enviro-Culture® survive in?
Enviro-Culture® are facultative anaerobes, meaning that they prefer an environment free from oxygen. However, they can also survive in an oxygen rich environment.
How does Enviro-Culture® benefit me?
Not only is this product environmentally friendly, but it is also 100% safe for human and animal contact and any environment you may introduce it to. In fact, the bacteria found in Enviro-Culture® use carbon dioxide in its own digestive process, releasing oxygen as a byproduct. This increases the overall health of the aquatic environment that it is in.
How would you describe the bacterium?
The isolate L. Plantarum is a slender, non-sporulative, non-motile, gram positive, facultative anaerobe, catalase negative rod of varying length.
